HONG KONG – Celebrating the remarkable McLaren 50th Anniversary, McLaren Hong Kong is delighted to present the first-ever McLaren 12C Parade in Hong Kong on Sunday, 27th October 2013. Up to 40 McLaren 12C and 12C Spider formed a cavalcade and promenaded 37km starting from Tsimshatsui to Central, then headed to Eastern Kowloon and ended at the Hyatt Regency Shatin, creating a whirl in the city.
Mr Sven Ritter, Regional Sales Manager of McLaren Automotive Asia was flown-in from Singapore to join this essential occasion and led the Parade with a specially decorated McLaren 12C Spider, “I am excited to be here today to join my first owners’ parade. This is a tremendous moment to enjoy marching with all McLaren cars as one of the celebrating activities of McLaren 50 in Hong Kong.”
Mr Peter Goh, Managing Director of Sime Darby Hong Kong Motor Group gladly said, “Thanks to all McLaren owners, I am so proud to participate and witness this inspiring 12C line-up today in Hong Kong, first yet impressive. This is undoubtedly a milestone for McLaren Hong Kong moving forward to its next chapter.”
A McLaren 50 badge was added on every McLaren cars’ windscreen as a commemorative icon of the Parade. At the Hyatt Regency Shatin, the legendary McLaren F1 and an eye-catching McLaren 12C Spider in Volcano Yellow with McLaren 50 décor were displayed.
Mr Max Cheng, General Manager of McLaren Hong Kong said at the event, “I would like to extend my sincere gratitude again to all the McLaren owners, as today I am pleased to announce that McLaren Hong Kong is in the top 3 markets of the Asia-Pacific region and there are over a hundred McLaren cars driving on the road since our launch in March 2012. The exceeding orders of McLaren P1 are also heartening the team. Our achievement is significantly marked by your contribution.”
Another highlight of the event is an exciting lucky draw program. McLaren Hong Kong has given out a 1/1000 McLaren 12C Limited Watch worth HK$112,000, a set of McLaren 50 1/2 Helmet Collection and a 1:18 McLaren 12C model car as the top 3 prizes.
“McLaren 50” is a symbol of celebration marking the 50th anniversary of McLaren since Bruce McLaren Motor Racing was founded in 1963. Worldwide celebrating activities have been running through in the beginning of this year.
McLaren Hong Kong has kicked off its celebrating program by presenting the RUSH Gala Premiere in September where McLaren has a significant and symbolic presence; followed by the McLaren 50 Exhibition on 22nd October which showcased the historic moments of McLaren in Formula One history between 1970s’ and 1980s’.
Today, we present the McLaren 12C Parade. More celebrating activities will be announced soon.
