HONG KONG – McLaren Hong Kong is proud to present the McLaren 50 12C Limited Edition – a commemorative anniversary model to celebrate five decades of race-winning technology and expertise of the British brand at its home place of McLaren Hong Kong Showroom on Friday, 13 December 2013.

As part of the continual celebrations for the McLaren 50th Anniversary, an exclusive launch party in partnership with HUGO BOSS to present BOSS Fall/Winter and BOSS McLaren Collections is brought to the audience in the festive season.

“It is our great honour to be part of the McLaren family and celebrate the McLaren 50th Anniversary. There are lots of praises received since we launched the McLaren 12C and 12C Spider last year in Hong Kong. As a high performance luxury supercar, McLaren road cars have no compromise on speed and technology, they are also designed as a comfort sports car for daily use that like no other in the market,” said Peter Goh, Managing Director of Sime Darby Hong Kong Motor Group.

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) and McLaren Automotive design team joined hands to develop the McLaren 50 12C with a world limited production of 50 units which features a number of bespoke styling and specification enhancements.

The unique exterior features of the McLaren 50 12C in a signature McLaren Orange paint include a remodelled, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)-optimised front bumper, inspired by the limited HS Edition, that provides increased levels of front downforce and creates a more dynamic visual impact. Special carbon fibre, colour-coded lower bumper and the race-derived carbon Kevlar front floor highlighted with an exclusive black McLaren F1-inspired heritage badge on the bonnet. A McLaren 50 logo is decorated on both carbon fibre turning vanes.

Carbon ceramic brake upgrade with a unique design of bespoke McLaren 50 Ultra Lightweight wheels finished in Satin Black, offers an enhanced stopping power and a combined 2kg saving over the optional Super Lightweight wheels.

Inside the cabin, the McLaren 50 12C is upholstered with a full leather upgrade, while subtle branding to the carbon fibre sill panel and floor mats is complimented by an anniversary dedication plate on the driver’s door which highlights the limited run of this special collection.

Each of the McLaren 50 models will be presented with a monogrammed black and silver car cover, limited edition key, carbon fibre presentation key box and a specially commissioned print signed by McLaren Automotive Design Director, Mr Frank Stephenson.

Mr Max Cheng, General Manager of McLaren Hong Kong said gladly at the party, “Today is a very special occasion that we present the limited McLaren 50 12C. This is always impressed by a masterpiece produced from the McLaren Special Operations, especially when it is designed to commemorate the heritage and achievements of McLaren in the past five decades.”

“In the year of McLaren 50th Anniversary, McLaren Hong Kong has introduced a series of celebrating events such as the RUSH Gala Premiere, the McLaren 50 Exhibition and the first-ever McLaren 12C Parade. Special thanks to all media friends and McLaren owners, we have gained unparalleled success in this remarkable year,” he added.

“McLaren 50” is a celebration symbol making the 50th anniversary of McLaren since Bruce McLaren Motor Racing was founded in 1963. Worldwide celebrating activities have been running through since the beginning of this year.

The only one of its kind built for Hong Kong, the McLaren 50 12C is priced at HKD4,680,000.
